Oregon deputy shoots pet chimpanzee after it attacks woman

PENDLETON, Oregon — A sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a woman’s pet chimpanzee after it reportedly attacked the owner’s daughter. According to oregonlive.com, Tamara Brogoitti, 68, called the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office at about 8 a.m. Sunday saying the chimpanzee had escaped from its cage. The chimpanzee attacked the 50-year-old woman, who ended up trapped in a room with her mother in the basement, oregonlive.com reports.
