BATTLE OF BROTHERS

Prince William & Harry ‘had ferocious fight’ on eve of Meghan Markle wedding & ‘weren’t speaking’ before Australia trip

PRINCE Harry “had a ferocious fight” with William on the eve of his wedding to Meghan Markle and “weren’t speaking” before the trip to Australia, it has been claimed.

The royal brothers are said to have had a number of blazing rows, according to an unnamed source, with the one just before Harry and Meghan’s wedding at Windsor Castle said to be “particularly ferocious”.

The exact details of what happened though are not known, according to the Mail on Sunday.

However, on the day before the wedding the brothers were all smiles in front of the crowds with Harry saying he was feeling “great”.

During a walkabout in Windsor with William, Harry was asked twice if he was nervous, but the Prince replied: "Great, thanks. How are you feeling?"

The Sussexes' trip to Australia came roughly a year after their wedding, possibly indicating how quickly relationships soured.

The new edition of Robert Lacey’s biography Battle of Brothers, which is being serialised in The Times, also claims the brothers were no longer on speaking terms before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex set off for Australia, with the clash being triggered by William’s fury over the bullying allegations surrounding Meghan.

The royal author has alleged William was furious after learning of a complaint made against the Duchess of Sussex by her former communications secretary.

And it's claimed the brothers' fury was so great, William split his household from Harry's altogether, The Times reports.

A source friendly with the Duke of Sussex told Lacey: "William threw Harry out."

William is said to have felt "hurt and betrayed" - and believed Meghan appeared to be "stealing his beloved brother away from him".

Meanwhile, it's claimed Kate "had been wary of her from the start".

But matters came to a head when Jason Knauf, who worked in comms for both the Cambridges and the Sussexes, submitted an official email in October 2018 alleging Meghan had bullied staff.

Meghan fiercely denies the claims - and a spokesperson for her and Harry said she was the victim of a calculated smear campaign.

However, after William heard the allegations, he called Harry immediately.

Lacey writes: “When Harry flared up in furious defence of his wife the elder brother persisted.

"Harry shut off his phone angrily, so William went to speak to him personally.

"The prince was horrified by what he had just been told about Meghan’s alleged behaviour, and he wanted to hear what Harry had to say.

The row came after simmering tension between William, Kate and Harry, when Wills allegedly warned his younger brother against moving too fast with Meghan.

The Sun has also revealed Prince Harry launched his bitter attacks on the Royal Family just 24 hours after learning he would be stripped of his military titles.

Retired major Harry, 36, agreed to the Oprah Winfrey chat right after losing them in February’s final Megxit deal.

A source explained: “There was a bust-up just before Oprah but it wasn’t to do with Archie’s title.

“That had been known and discussed for quite a while.

“Harry and Meghan were very cross before Oprah because the final Megxit separation had just been signed off which included Harry not keeping military roles.

“That was what made him so angry. He’s very emotional and his military roles were very important to him given that he served.”
