BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton is facing a lawsuit from a parent who alleges her son was repeatedly bullied and injured at the school over three years.

BocaNewsNow.com is not naming the student. The guardian is identified as Janne Lomasky.

According to the suit just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, the student “has been a student at Donna Klein since 2013, and has experienced three episodes resulting in bodily injury as a result of the negligence and carelessness of defendant, Donna Klein.”

“On or about February 13, 2018, while plaintiff was in a. classroom standing up at his desk, another female student pulled the chair out from under (the child) when he went to sit down, resulting in bodily injury.”

“On or about May 3, 20198, when plaintiff was on the playground, another male student place his arm around plaintiff’s neck in a chokehold, then another male student picked (the child) up and threw him into the soccer net resulting in bodily injury.”

“On March 22, 2021, while the plaintiff was on the playground playing soccer, another male student tackled the child to the ground and the male student continued to forcefully slam his buttocks upon the stomach of plaintiff. In an attempt to protect his stomach, the plaintiff placed his right arm across his stomach, but the repeated forceful slamming against plaintiff’s body resulted in bodily injury to the plaintiff.”

Attorneys state that the child has suffered bodily injury, pain, suffering and disability as a result of the abuse.

The suit says that Donna Klein failed to supervise students and prevent injury.

“Defendant Donna Klein had a duty to use reasonable care in the guidance, supervision, and control of students in the school and during school hours, and to provide a safe place for all students to educate.”

The plaintiff is represented by attorney Fred Fulmer in Fort Lauderdale. DKJA did not file an immediate response to the complaint.
