ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies said they are investigating after a woman was fatally shot on Sunday evening by her brother-in-law.

Michael Ronald Galarza, 46, was arrested on one count of first-degree murder with a firearm.

At about 7 p.m., deputies said they were called to the 7000 block of Redwood Country Road for an aggravated battery call.

Investigators identified the woman as Francis Arsenault, 30.

They said a woman found shot was taken to a hospital for her injuries. She later died at the hospital, deputies said.

The investigation is in its early stages.
