    New York is the city where dreams come true. NYC is a spectacular place, where people from all around the world dream to live or visit. 

    Besides being one of the most beautiful cities in the world, NYC is the most populous city in the United States. NYC is the home of over 8 million people. 

    With so many living in NY, rules and laws must be created to maintain the city's peace. 

    Some of the NY laws are crazy and a few people know about them. 

    These are some of the craziest NYC laws.

    It's illegal to sell dog or cat hair

    If you had plans that involved selling dog or cat hair in New York City, I have to break it to you, but you are not allowed to do it in NYC.

    Selling dog and cat hair is not allowed in NYC.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership, or corporation to knowingly import, sell, offer for sale, manufacture, distribute, transport, or otherwise market or trade-in the fur, hair, skin, or flesh of a domesticated dog (canis familiaris) or domesticated cat (felis catus or domesticus), whether domestically raised or imported from another country, or any product or item containing or comprised of the fur, hair, skin or flesh of a dog or cat.     It's illegal to throw a ball at someone's head for entertainment purposes

    In NYC you are not allowed to through a ball at somebody's head in certain conditions.

    According to New York Penal Law § 245.05: Offensive exhibition:

    ”A person is guilty of offensive exhibition when he knowingly produces, operates, manages or furnishes premises for, or in any way promotes or participates in, an exhibition in the nature of public entertainment or amusement in which: a person competes continuously without respite for a period of more than eight consecutive hours in a dance contest, bicycle race or other contest involving physical endurance; or a person is held up to ridicule or contempt by voluntarily submitting to indignities such as the throwing of balls or other articles at his head or body; or a firearm is discharged or a knife, arrow or other sharp or dangerous instrument is thrown or propelled at or toward a person.” - Criminal Defence

    It's illegal to gamble with cards, dice, or other gambling paraphernalia in public spaces

    In NY you are not allowed to practice any gambling activities in public spaces. This includes gambling with cards in any public place.

    According to Section 240.35 Loitering, Penal (PEN), a person is guilty of loitering when:

      ”Loiters or remains in a public place for the purpose of gambling with cards, dice or other gambling paraphernalia” - NY Senate
     ”Loiters or remains in or about school grounds, a college or university building, or grounds or a children's overnight camp as defined in section one thousand three hundred ninety-two of the public health law or a summer day camp as defined in section one thousand three hundred ninety-two of the public health law, or loiters, remains in or enters a school bus as defined in section one hundred forty-two of the vehicle and traffic law, not having any reason or relationship involving custody of or responsibility for a pupil or student, or any other specific, legitimate reason for being there, and not having written permission from anyone authorized to grant the same or loiters or remains in or about such children's overnight camp or summer day camp in violation of conspicuously posted rules or regulations governing entry and use thereof” - NY Senate
    ”Loiters or remains in any transportation facility, unless specifically authorized to do so, for the purpose of soliciting or engaging in any business, trade or commercial transactions involving the sale of merchandise or services, or for the purpose of entertaining persons by singing, dancing or playing any musical instrument” - NYC Senate
