Strong storms push through northern part of the region

PITTSBURGH — Sunday evening will be warm and muggy if you’re having a cookout to celebrate Father’s Day. Most areas will stay dry, but you can’t rul out an isolated strong shower or storm mainly north of Pittsburgh. There has already been two warnings issued for a strong storm along I-80.

Monday will be very warm and humid. A cold front will bring the threat for strong to severe storms Monday afternoon and evening. The main concerns for tomorrow will be strong damaging winds, heavy rain which could lead to localized flooding, and possible hail.

Showers and clouds will linger early Tuesday but clearing is expected behind this system later in the day. Cooler air will also move in, highs will only reach the upper 60s Tuesday.

Comfortable and mild Wednesday, we stay dry. It will be fantastic Thursday with warmer temperatures and highs will reach the low 80s. Wednesday through most of the day Friday will be great for getting outside, just make sure to grab the sunscreen!

Unsettled weather will return Friday night and continue into Saturday.
