‘The Moving Wall’ Vietnam memorial travels to Walsenburg

WALSENBURG, Colo. (KRDO) -- For 30-plus years, "The Moving Wall" memorial has traveled all over the country to honor the lives lost in the Vietnam War.

This replica, of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, is half the size, but it has the capability of moving from state to state.

The Wall made its first appearance in Tyler, Texas in October of 1984. Since then, it is one of two replicas that travels all over the country from April to November each year.

Today, the display is available for all to see at the Spanish Peaks Regional Hospital & Colorado State Veterans Home in Walsenburg. The Wall is open to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. on June 18th.

It will be open for all to see from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily June 18th, 19th and 20th.
