LEE COUNTY, Fla. – One year ago, a Lee County couple made their dreams a reality be opening the doors to a cafe that’s changing our community for the better. On June 18, 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, Andrew Townsend and Amber Redfern opened the first cat cafe in Southwest Florida called Cattyshack Cafe. They’ve adopted out nearly 800 cats from our community. Most of the cats and kittens come from the Gulf Coast Humane Society and are spayed, neutered and ready to go. Cattyshack Cafe is also holding a pet food drive. If you’re near the Gulf Coast Town Center, drop by and drop off some food for the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
