Top Stories this PM: Catholic bishops vs. Biden; Taylor Swift's latest rerelease; HBO blames the intern

Good afternoon. Here are the top stories so far today.

What happened today:

Bishops vs. Biden. Catholic Bishops voted to advance guidance that would ban President Joe Biden from receiving communion in response to his support of abortion rights. The exact language of the document will be drafted and then voted on in November, The New York Times reported. Biden is a practicing Catholic who regularly attends Mass.

Should the president have to take a brain test? Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, who previously served as the White House physician under both Trump and Obama, is calling on Biden to take a cognitive test to prove he's fit to run the country. More than a dozen Republicans signed the letter. Biden, 78, is America's oldest president.

Seeing Red. Taylor Swift announced that "Red (Taylor's Version)" will drop on November 19. She wrote a lengthy statement, saying, "This will be the first time you hear all 30 songs that were meant to go on Red." It'll be her second rerelease since the dispute over the ownership of her master recordings.

Who's the real bully? Chrissy Teigen's team is pushing back against bullying claims made by designer Michael Costello, who has dressed stars like Beyoncé. Costello posted screenshots of messages in which it appeared Teigen wrote, "racist people like you deserve to suffer and die." Costello has since declined to comment.

HBO blamed the intern. Some HBO Max subscribers received a mysterious email Thursday night with a subject line that read, "Integration Test Email #1." HBO Max said on Twitter that it was accidentally sent out by an intern, prompting some to share their own embarrassing internship gaffes, and reassure the HBO Max intern that everyone makes mistakes.

That's all for now. See you Monday.
