DAYTON, Ohio — The Miami Valley is preparing for the potential for severe weather later today.

“We are fully staffed from line crews to our service center,” said Mary Ann Kabel with AES Ohio, formerly DP&L.

To report any kind of power outages, please call 1-877-4-OUTAGE.

Kabel said it’s important that people are prepared. That could mean building a kit in the event that you lose power and to know what numbers to call in the event of an emergency.

Kabel said customers should make a plan that would include how you would protect medication that needs refrigeration and what to do in the event if you have any downed power lines.
