Dr. Ronny Jackson said he wants President Joe Biden to take a cognitive test to assess his mental aptitude following his first international tour as president.
“We can’t sit on this any longer,” Jackson said during a segment on Hannity Thursday night.
Jackson, also a freshman Texas Republican congressman, pointed to moments on the tour in which Biden, who was the oldest person to assume the presidency at 78, had “embarrassing” blunders and showed “mental decline and forgetfulness.”
“He’s not physically or cognitively fit to be our president right now,” Jackson asserted.
Biden is “not inspiring confidence,” he continued. “It’s sending the wrong message to our adversaries.”

Jackson added: “We need to know that we can trust our president, and we need to know that he’s in charge of what’s going on and someone else isn’t pulling the strings behind the scenes.”
Jackson also found support among his congressional colleagues, who joined him in a letter to the Biden administration requesting a cognitive assessment.
“We write to you today to express concern with your current cognitive state,” the group of 14 lawmakers said in the letter to Biden.
“Unfortunately, your mental decline and forgetfulness have become more apparent over the past 18 months,” the lawmakers continued in the letter.
The group also pointed to a precedent started by former President Donald Trump, who said he took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and passed it with a 30 out of 30 for the cognitive portion.
“We encourage you to follow the example set by President Trump by undergoing a cognitive test as soon as possible and immediately making the results available for the American people,” the group wrote.
Given the precedent set and President Biden’s CLEAR mental struggles, I believe it’s past time he take a cognitive test.

In the letter, the group of Republicans also pointed to Biden previously agreeing to take such a test while on the campaign trail.
“At first, you ‘grew testy’ and questioned ‘why the hell would I take a test,’ according to an AP report. Later you relented and said you were ‘very willing to let the American public judge my physical, mental — my physical, as well as my mental fitness and to, you know, to make a judgment about who I am.’”

White House spokesman Andrew Bates has confirmed Biden will have a “checkup,” but it is unclear if this will include a test of his cognitive abilities.
“The President is planning to have a checkup later this year, and the results will be released to the public,” Bates said last month.
The Republican lawmakers who signed the letter include Reps. Bob Gibbs, Jeff Duncan, Andy Harris, Brian Babin, Jody Hice, Claudia Tenney, Greg Steube, Tom Tiffany, Kat Cammack, Jerry Carl, Pat Fallon, Diana Harshbarger, and Beth Van Duyne.
