Potential Tropical Cyclone Three forms in the Gulf

Potential Tropical Cycle Three has formed and is tracking toward the northern Gulf coast, WFTV chief meteorologist Tom Terry said.

The storm, which has the potential to become Claudette, brings with it the threat of heavy rainfall and flooding to the Northern Gulf Coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical storm warnings are in effect along the Louisiana coast to the Alabama/Florida border.

The first track brings the storm north toward the Gulf Coast by Friday night and Saturday. Most of the rain is expected to stay west of Central Florida until late this weekend, when rain chances increase.
