"I actually got a call that our building was possibly on fire," said mechanic Bernie Conner.

Conner got to Beaver Tire and Service as fast as he could when he heard the news. He soon realized his employer's business was safe, but the building next door wasn't.

Surveillance video captured Idlewood Industries go up in flames.

"From what I heard from the neighbors who were around, they were 30 to 40 feet in the air," said Conner.

First smoke, then fire, then firefighters responding.

"Lucky, there were so many people around who called it in when they did. That way they could get it knocked down," said Conner.

Neighbors gathered around Thursday afternoon, still processing what happened.

"It was all bright orange and it lit up half this area," said neighbor Miley Hapach.

KDKA's Amy Wadas: So what do you think when you look at this damage?

Neighbor Terry Johnson: Shocked.

The fire did damage at least one nearby business. The siding on the back outer wall of The Raceway in Beaver was burned off. Since then, workers covered it up with a blue tarp. The owner said it will be fixed.

No one was hurt in the fire, and neighbors said no was at the business when the fire started.

KDKA reached out to Idlewood Industries and hasn't heard back.

Investigators don't know yet how the fire started.
