NBA Playoffs: Former Warrior Kevin Durant explodes for heroic 49 point triple-double in Nets' game 5 win vs. Bucks, 114-108

With the Golden State Warriors punching an early ticket to the offseason after a pair of losses in the Western Conference play-in tournament, Warriors Wire is checking in on former members of Golden State across the 2021 edition of the NBA postseason.

In the second round of the playoffs, Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant leads a featured group of former Warriors trying to get back to the NBA Finals with new teams. Former Warriors DeMarcus Cousins and JaVale McGee are also still in action during the 2021 playoffs.

Here is a look at how Durant performed during game five between the No. 2 seed Brooklyn Nets and No. 3 Milwaukee Bucks.

Eastern Conference Round 2, Game 5: Bucks at Nets (2-2):

With Kyrie Irving sidelined and James Harden coming off an injury, the Brooklyn Nets needed to lean on Kevin Durant after back-to-back losses to the Milwaukee Bucks. During game five, the former member of the Golden State Warriors delivered.

Durant took over the game, scoring 49 points on 16-of-23 shooting from the floor and 4-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc. The Texas product tacked on 17 boards and 10 assists to complete a fiery triple-double performance. On the defensive end, Durant added three steals and two blocks in 48 minutes.

Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton combining for 59 points, the Bucks had no answer for Durant in game five. Behind Durant, the Nets sealed a victory in game five, 114-108.

Before the Nets have the opportunity to move to the Eastern Conference Finals, Durant will have to go through Antetokounmpo on the road in a potential elimination contest. Game six is slated for Thursday in Milwaukee at 5:30 p.m. PT.
