Haaaland went on to reveal how excited he was prior to making his debut in the competition with Red Bull Salzburg, and spoke about his desire to win it.

He admitted that the week prior to making his Champions League debut the infamous music players stand tall too before matches consumed him.

It is a memory that will stick with him forever, he said.

Haaland even played the Champions League music in his car en route to the final training session before facing Genk back in 2019.

'I have been thinking about the Champions League my whole life, wanting to play there. So maybe it gives me one per cent extra motivation when I go out on the pitch with the anthem,' he went on.

Haaland is on the radar of a number of top clubs, including Premier League sides

'That's my big dream. To win the Champions League one day. Hopefully I can lift that trophy and that really would be, well, amazing.'

The powerful forward seems destined to achieve his ambitions at the current rate of progress. He scored 20 Champions League goals in his first 14 games.

The astonishing output has put him on the radar of Europe's top clubs with Manchester United and City both thought to be leading contenders for the Norwegian's signature along with Chelsea, who are understood to be leading the charge.

Sportsmail previously reported that the Blues have opened talks over a potential £170million move for the striker.

Haaland (pictured left, with Jude Bellingham) has thrived at Dortmund with 44 goals last term

Last season, Haaland scored 44 goals in 40 games and whichever club manages to strike a deal with Dortmund will bag themselves a guaranteed goalscorer for years to come.

The Norwegian accepts his career is going 'very fast' but he is relishing the speed of his ascent to greatness.

Haaland has recently been pictured partying on a yacht in Mykonos with a group of bikini-clad women and his Norway side failed to reach the Euros.

He is unwinding during the off-season before reigniting his ambitions next season. Where that might be, remains to be seen.
