On June 9 the Columbus Symphony announced their new free special performance of Patriotic Pops to healthline workers, first responders, active military members, and veterans on June 25. They want to honor all those who have worked tirelessly throughout the global pandemic.

“We want to celebrate our freedoms with those who have protected, provided, and cared for our community throughout this pandemic, and invite them and their families to come relax and enjoy!” said Denise Rehg, CSO Executive Director.

Patriotic Pops is composed of patriotic favorites and Sousa marchers as well as a grand fireworks celebration.

This event can only be attended if you make reservations beforehand. Anyone attending who is a member of the specified groups, will receive free admission for themselves and their families. They can pre register online at www.PicnicWithThePops.com. Make sure to present an appropriate ID card at the gate when requested to confirm your occupation and ticket. The maximum limit for each reservation is only six people.

The performance is at the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion in the John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons and it begins at 8 pm on Friday, June 25. Free concerts are for general admission and it comes with lawn seating. Table seating is available on Saturday, June 26 for the public Patriotic Pops performance. Since the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, masks are only required for those who are not fully vaccinated. Social distancing is still encouraged.

“We have taken great pride in being here for the community throughout the pandemic. Picnic with the Pops and Popcorn Pops will give us exciting opportunities to celebrate returning to being together,” stated Rehg. “Our patrons can be assured of adherence to the most current safety protocols as provided by the CDC and the Columbus Health Department. We are looking forward to a great summer and being here for our community. Come celebrate, relax, and enjoy!”
