Back to Summer Bay? He is currently celebrating the release of his new STAN show, The Republic of Sarah. However, former Home and Away hunk Luke Mitchell has revealed he often reminisces on the character who made him a household name, Todd 'Romeo' Smith

The 36-year-old, who was based in Los Angeles for years, revealed that if Romeo was to make a return it would have to be a short-lived move.

'If it was a fun, little cameo to be had or you know, like a dream sequence, I don't know if it would be possible but if it made sense and worked out scheduling wise, why not?' he added.

The Aussie actor played Romeo on Home And Away from 2009 to 2013.

Luke, who recently finished filming his new Stan project overseas, is married to his former Summer Bay star wife, Rebecca Breeds.

In the interview, he revealed that his newest role feels like a blessing as the couple are grateful to be employed during the COVID period.

'For both of us to get work, in the same time period, in the same country, in neighbouring cities, I feel like we won the lottery,' he said.

'If one of us was in the States and one of us was in Canada and you tried to visit, you'd have to do two weeks quarantine. It just wouldn't be possible,' he added.

In his new role, Luke plays Danny Cooper - the brother of a Sarah (played by Stella Baker, daughter of Simon Baker) who establishes a unconventional idea that involves the town using a loophole to create itself as its own country.

The Republic of Sarah is based on on a small town facing destruction due to a greedy mining company.

The Republic of Sarah  is streaming now on Stan.
