Soccer fans made so many Luis Suarez jokes after Antonio Rudiger's apparent bite of Paul Pogba

It really isn’t a major international soccer tournament without a high-profile biting incident. So, in that respect, the UEFA Euro 2020 (taking place in 2021) has already fulfilled the requirement.

And no, Luis Suarez was not involved.

Late in the first half of Tuesday’s Group F clash between Germany and France at Allianz Arena in Munich, France star Paul Pogba shouted in pain and appealed to the referees about Germany’s Antonio Rudiger.

Though the incident was not taken to red-card review in VAR, replays did show that the Chelsea defender appeared to bite Pogba on the shoulder. Whether it met the standard of an actual bite is debatable, but it sure looked like a bite.

You be the judge:

Again, Rudiger was not carded for the incident, but UEFA may give it a closer look after the match.

In the meantime, soccer fans predictably responded with a ton of Luis Suarez jokes — given his prolific biting history.
