Mama June’s daughter Anna, 26, reveals she’s suffered four miscarriages as she tries for third child with boyfriend
MAMA June’s eldest daughter, Anna Cardwell, revealed she suffered four heartbreaking miscarriages in her quest to have baby number three.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, the 26-year-old opened up about her painful and heartbreaking experiences losing her recent pregnancies with her boyfriend of four years, Eldridge Toney.
She said: “We are trying to have a third child, and it’s been difficult. I’ve gone through four miscarriages and a D&C.
"It's been a long bumpy road for us trying to have baby number three.”
Anna, who is mother to daughters Kaitlyn Clark, eight, and Kylee Cardwell, five, says her most recent failed pregnancy happened around the holidays.
Anna said: “The last miscarriage was two days before Christmas, and I had to get a D&C done. It felt like I was giving birth, it was the worst pain of my life. It’s a really painful process, so I’m like you know let's give it one more try. "
The Honey Boo Boo star added that they’ve figured out one potential underlying issue.
“I don’t make enough progesterone. I don’t have enough in my system, so it keeps the baby from getting enough nutrition," Anna revealed.
Anna says she and Eldridge aren’t giving up on having a rainbow baby just yet.
She said: “We know what's going on now, and we are taking the right precautions to take care of it and make sure it stays alive and everything like that.”
The reality star, who also goes by the nickname Chickadee, also opened up about how her relationship is with Eldridge these days.
The TV star said: “We’ve been together almost four years this month or next month. It’s a hassle to deal with him and it’s a hassle to deal with me,” but she says, that isn’t stopping him from wanting to take their relationship to the next level.
“He wants to marry me, but after my first marriage, I don’t really want to get married again, because you never know what will happen. I always tell him marriage is just a piece of paper saying ‘Hey you’re married.’”
However, despite Anna’s hesitancy, she says she’s open to the idea of marrying again.
Anne explained: “We talk about it. We have promise rings now, we went to Florida and had promise rings made.
"I told myself if we make it past four years, then we can talk more about it, and that’s right around the corner. I’m like we make it four years and a day, we can talk about it.”
Anna, who has opened up about her painful childhood, and how she was allegedly sexually abused by one of June’s boyfriends, says she struggles with anxiety and depression, and that Eldridge is a big source of support for her.
“He deals with a lot of my stuff, he helps me because I've got really bad anxiety and a little bit of depression here and there but, you know, I've had it worse.
“It's not as bad as it used to be and he helps me through all that stuff and makes sure I’m okay. Like he always asks me, ‘How are you today? Are you okay?’”
And whats more, Anna added that her family is all for their relationship.
She revealed: Our relationship has been good, and the family really loves him. Mama would ask him How have you dealt with her for four years? And he’ll say ‘It’s not always easy but I’m dealing with it.’”
Anna and June reunited last week after years of estrangement.
The family matriarch has gotten clean following a downward spiral into drugs and drinking that came to a head in 2019 when June was arrested on drug charges, including possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia charges in Alabama.
She was arrested with her boyfriend Geno Doak, who was charged with third-degree domestic violence, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
It is estimated that June spent a staggering $900,000 in a year on drugs.
Recently, June made the bold statement in an Instagram post as she celebrated about being off drugs and alcohol for 16 months.
June revisited her prison sentence in a trailer for the WeTV show.
At the beginning of the clip, June ensured her family and friends that she "will not be going to prison," but her Geno exclaimed: "She's not listening to me."
Mama previously escaped jail time for possession of crack cocaine by agreeing to do community service.
The TV personality and her boyfriend were arrested for possession of crack cocaine in March of 2019.
The pair had avoided prison time until this point, after agreeing to court supervision and community service.
The Mama June: Road to Redemption star cannot use alcohol or drugs or visit places where they are used and sold, such as restaurants or bars.
