35-Year-Old Mulberry Woman Killed in Lakeland Polk Parkway Crash Saturday

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 35-year-od Mulberry woman was killed Saturday, in a crash that happened around 8:55 am, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the woman was traveling eastbound in the outside exit lane of SR-570 near Milepost 7, approaching South Florida Avenue in Lakeland.

A 27-year-old Lakeland man working his job as a Road Ranger, was stopped eastbound at the exit of SR-570 to remove debris from the roadway with his emergency lights activated.

FHP says that the woman lost control of the vehicle which departed its lane and collided with the rear of the Road Ranger. The impact rotated both vehicles rotated, which stopped along the outside portion of the roadway.

The Mulberry woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The Lakeland man suffered only minor injuries’ in the crash.
