Football Tom Brady used to throw first career TD sells for over $428K at auction

After winning his seventh Super Bowl title, solidifying himself as the greatest of all time, Tom Brady memorabilia continues to sell at high prices.

The football the former New England Patriots quarterback used to throw his first career NFL touchdown pass on Oct. 14, 2001, which was auctioned off by Lelands, sold for over $428,000, according to Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal.

The auction started at $75,000 and generated 33 total bids.

The seller told Daniels he caught the ball when former Patriots receiver Terry Glenn tossed it into the stands at Foxboro Stadium following the touchdown.

The seller wants to remain anonymous to avoid potential backlash from Patriots fans who were unhappy he kept the ball. However, he said he spoke to the Patriots about the ball, but they never came to an agreement.

Lelands also recently sold an autographed Brady 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket card last Friday for a record $3.1 million.

Brady spent the first 20 years of his career with the Patriots before signing with Tampa Bay last offseason. He won six Super Bowls in New England alongside Bill Belichick.
