PHOENIX – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC 263 fighter weigh-ins, where all but one fighter made weight without issue.

The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Phoenix and precede the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 7 p.m. ET at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. The same arena hosts Saturday’s event, which has a main card on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.

Among those weighing in were middleweight champion Israel Adesanya (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) and challenger Marvin Vettori (17-3-1 MMA, 7-2-1 UFC), who meet in a rematch for Adesanya’s title. Each made weight without issue.

Meanwhile, flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC) takes on Brandon Moreno (18-5-2 MMA, 6-2-2 UFC) in a rematch after a draw this past December. Moreno was the second fighter on the scale, while Figueiredo raised some concern by taking the full two hours allotted before making his trip to the stage. Ultimately, though, both weighed 125 pounds, and the title fight was made official.

The only fighters who missed weight on the day was Steven Peterson (18-9 MMA, 2-3 UFC), who weighed in at 148.5 pounds for his featherweight matchup with Chase Hooper (10-1-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC). Peterson was fined 20 percent of his purse for the infraction, but the bout will go on as scheduled.
