JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two teenagers are facing charges after they were seen on “Tiktok” throwing an electric scooter into the St. Johns River.
A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office police officer says he was scrolling through the social media platform “Tiktok” when he came across a video of two teens throwing a electric scooter in the St. Johns River.

Through investigation the police officer was able to find the two suspects in the video through their Instagram pages listed on their TikTok accounts.
The police officer could identify the city as Jacksonville from the Main Street Bridge in the background.
With help from the Duval County School Police, the officer was able to determine that the two teens seen in the video went to First Coast High School.

The police officer then went to the school to try to talk to the teens. He used D.A.V.I.D. to positively identify the teens.
The officer then spoke with the scooter rental company, Blue Duck, and informed them of the video. They told the police officer that they wanted to press charges against the teens.
Both teens, age 17 and 18, face criminal mischief and littering charges.
