Country singer Jimmie Allen and wife Alexis announce they are expecting their second child together... a week after they got married

Country singer Jimmie Allen and his wife Alexis are expecting a second child together. 

The pair — who tied the knot at the end of May — announced on Monday, June 7, that they are adding to their family with both taking to Instagram to share the exciting news. 

Jimmie, 34, and Alexis, 25, are also parents to daughter Naomi, 15 months, and the Freedom Was A Highway singer also has son Aadyn, seven, from a previous relationship.   

Jimmie's announcement came in the form of a mashup of comedic scenes from film and television classics including Knocked Up, Diff'rent Strokes, Friday, and Home Alone 2. 

He captioned the photo 'Well......' with a smiley face. 

Two Polaroids — one that said 'coming soon' and another of pregnant Alexis that said 'Baby Allen' were —  attached at the end of the montage. 

Later he shared a photo of Alexis prominently cradling her bump in a white dress as they posed with The Cosby Show star Phylicia Rashad. 

And Alexis took to her Instagram story to repost a story shared by a photographer friend who penned a thoughtful note about the exciting news. 

Speaking about shooting a portrait of the lovers when they were expecting daughter Naomi, she wrote that Alexis would be just as 'stunning and flawless' as a mom this time around. 

The news comes just weeks after the pair tied the knot on May 27 in Perkasie, Pennsylvania at The Lake House Inn surrounded by an intimate group of friends and family. 

The couple got engaged in 2019 at Disney World but the pandemic thwarted their original wedding plans which were set for 2020. 

They originally met through a cousin of Jimmie's, as both are from the same town of Milton, Delaware.  

'We had an immediate connection...It was like we'd always known each other,' the Best Shot singer told People after he proposed. 

'Her smile melts me, her pure heart challenges me to love better, the way she motivates and supports me is unlike anything I've ever seen, the way she loves me and my son is unlike anything I've ever experienced. It feels incredible to find the type of love I've been writing songs about all these years!,' he added. 

In April, Allen became the first Black musician to be named New Male Artist of the Year at the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards.
