Police identify driver in chase through Westmoreland, Indiana Counties

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — A Duquesne man is facing 50 charges after being identified as the driver in a police chase through Westmoreland and Indiana counties last month.

An arrest warrant was issued for Nicholas Lomax, 28, on Tuesday, after police say he was identified in the incident on May 19 incident.

McKeesport police was looking for a white Audi A3 that was possibly involved in a drive-by shooting, before driving into the Monroeville area along Route 22. The vehicle was seen by a Pennsylvania State Police trooper in Salem Township, Westmoreland County. A pursuit was initiated and continued into Indiana County along Route 22 with speeds in excess of 135 mph.

The driver was later identified as Lomax, and he is charged with felony fleeing and eluding, misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct, and 47 traffic violations.

Police said the pursuit was terminated for safety precautions before entering the Blairsville borough.
