One Central Florida restaurant received emergency orders to shut down in the week of May 30-June 5, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Sake House Orlando, at 1625 Rinehart Road in Sanford, shut down on June 2.
They received 16 total violations during the inspection, seven of which were high-priority violations.
Those violations included food not being cooled at the proper temperature, live roaches crawling on the kitchen wall, and rodent activity as evidenced by droppings on the kitchen floor.
Officials revisited the restaurant on June 3 and found eight violations. Four of them were a high priority. Sake House still had rodent activity and food temperature violations from the June 2 inspection. Officials also found the dish machine sanitizer wasn’t at the proper strength. Officials did not allow the restaurant to reopen.
A second inspection on June 3 found six violations with only two being a high priority. However, inspectors allowed the restaurant to reopen.
The Sentinel reached out but did not hear back.
Brevard County took the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida with five. Orange County placed second with four. Seminole had two, Lake had one, and Osceola had zero complaints. Warnings given with required follow-up inspections could lead to a business being shut down if problems remain.
In surrounding counties, four warnings or complaints were filed in Polk and none in Sumter.
