On Tuesday, 14 protesters were arrested during an anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement demonstration at New Jersey’s Bergen County Jail. One was charged with assaulting an officer. Those arrested were part of a group that held an overnight vigil across from the jail to stop the deportation of Marvin Jerezano Peña. He was arrested in Red Bank and had a federal deportation hearing scheduled for Tuesday in Newark. Some protesters blocked vehicles from entering and leaving the port used to shuttle inmates and detainees. Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton said at one point, demonstrators sat down in front of an ICE vehicle to block it from leaving the jail. Daily Voice.
