HOUSTONGuten Morgen! If you are looking for a restaurant that serves excellent German cuisines in Houston, make sure that Rudi Lechner’s German Restaurant is on your radar.

Opened in 1976, Rudi Lechner’s offers a cozy German-Texan ambiance to their loyal customers. According to their website, they’re trying to make their customer’s visits as memorable and personal as possible. The restaurant calls it “their home away from home”.

Located at 2503 South Gessner Road, this restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. They are close on Mondays and Sundays.

Rudi Lechner’s a wide range of traditional German cuisines such as pretzels, roasted pork shank, schnitzel, a variety of sausages, apple strudel, and many more.

A German restaurant without beers is like Hansel without Gretel. It’s incomplete. Well, you’ll have no such worries, though, because Rudi Lechner’s has a wide selection of German beers and wines to choose from.

According to several reviewers on Yelp and Tripadvisor who have traveled abroad, the food in Rudi tastes similar to the original cuisines; their food is authentic as possible.

One of the most celebrated events in Germany is Oktoberfest. But if you don’t have the time to go to Germany, Rudi Lechner’s now also holds Oktoberfest of its own, where people can try beers on bottles or drafts.

From Wednesday to Saturday, there will always be live music in the evening. Also, there’s a German sampler buffet on Wednesday from 6 - 9 p.m. With only $16.95/person, you will have good food, many kinds of beers, and schnapps waiting for you.

Another fantastic thing about them is that they also host a monthly event, "Stammtisch", to help you practice your German.

So, if everything seems wunderbar to you, don’t forget to pay a visit. You can also go to www.rudilechners.com or call (713) 782-1180 to make a reservation. Tschüss!
