June 7 (UPI) -- HBO Max released the trailer for the film No Sudden Move on Monday. The streaming service will premiere the film July 1.

Steven Soderbergh directs No Sudden Move. Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro and Kieran Culkin play small time criminals hired to take Matt Wertz (David Harbour)'s family hostage.

The gang's boss is forcing Wertz to retrieve a document from an office. When he returns, the operation goes south.

Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Julia Fox, Brendan Fraser, Amy Seimetz, Noah Jupe, Craig muMs Grant, Frankie Shaw, and Bill Duke also star.

The film takes place in 1954 Detroit, Mich. The period piece features historically accurate costumes like trenchcoats and top hats. An HBO press release says the race-torn history of the city provides a backdrop to the crime story.

Soderbergh previously directed the HBO Max original movie Let Them All Talk, the HBO movie Behind the Candelabra, the HBO series Mosaic and the Cinemax series The Knick. Mosaic writer Ed Solomon and producer Casey Silver also wrote and produced No Sudden Move respectively.
