I've lived near Italian Bay Cities for almost two years now and I regret not eating there every single day.

"When you dine at our Italian deli and bakery in Santa Monica, California, you can expect the highest quality food made with the freshest ingredients, along with friendly, personal customer service. Since 1925, we have specialized in homemade, authentic Italian specialties, like our freshly made pasta, bread, and rolls. You can choose from all of our delicious menu items to cater your next big event. Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery is also a gourmet market, where you can find all types of domestic and imported groceries, including cheese, wine, and even housewares."

Italian Bay Cities offers a full-service deli and bakery, where you get to enjoy Italian food, including fresh pasta and baked dinners, sandwiches, salads, and desserts, all of which is made on-site. You can also pick up hot and cold party trays to cater your next event.

Every time I go there I always pick up a few to-go pasta salads, cheeses and meats for a meat and cheese board as well as a few sandwiches. The line to get a sandwich is almost always long but it's the perfect opportunity for you to browse through the store while you wait for your number to be called.

They also have a really beautiful wine cellar that I highly recommend you check out.

    A few favorite sandwiches:

Burrata Caprese: We’ve taken the traditional Caprese sandwich to a new level by replacing water mozzarella with Burrata – the outer shell is solid

Caprese: Water Mozzarella, Onion, Tomato, Basil, Oregano, Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Salt & Pepper

Godmother: (the absolute best) Our Signature Sandwich made with Prosciutto, Ham, Capi Cola, Mortadella, Genoa Salami and Provolone Cheese – best with the works.

Jamon Serrano: Redondo Iglesias 12 month aged dry cured pork leg

Pastrami-cold: Hand trimmed corned beef brisket, coated with pepper and coriander then smoked

Spaniard: Jamon Serrano, copa seca, honey ham, pamplona chorizo, gruyere, oregano, parsley, roasted tomatoes, EV olive oil, black pepper

Turkey Pesto: House turkey, pepper jack cheese, roasted tomatoes, house special pesto sauce, EV olive oil and basil on a mini baguette

Make sure to check out their desserts on your way out, their tiramisu and Italian cheesecake is phenomenal.
