Preview performances are to begin Dec. 21 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, with an opening night planned for Jan. 12.

Rashad, 72, is known for her screen roles include The Cosby Show, A Fall From Grace, Creed, Creed II, For Colored Girls, Soul, Jingle Jangle, Black Box, This is Us, David Makes Man and Empire.
