A single-vehicle crash injured 1 person on Yakima River Bridge on I-182 (Richland, WA)

On Friday afternoon, one driver was hurt after crashing her car into a barrier on the eastbound lane of the Yakima River Bridge on I-182.

Authorities said that a passenger fled the scene but they do not know who this person was or where they went. According to a press memo issued by the Washington State Patrol, the incident took place at about 12:45 p.m. A 42-year-old female resident of Pasco was traveling eastbound on I-182 in her 1996 Chevy Tahoe.

The woman veered due to a tire in the middle of the road as a result of which she crashed into a concrete barrier. She was hurt in the crash and medics took her to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with injuries. At this time, no further details about the passenger has been released. Officials shut down one eastbound lane of I-182 for some time, causing light traffic.

An investigation is continuing.
