WARETOWN – The body of an unresponsive female was found in a wooded area of Waretown and authorities are treating it as suspicious.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer confirmed the body was found near the Barnegat Branch Trail near Country Line Road in Ocean Township on June 4.
The Prosecutor’s Office said that responding officers found the body of a deceased female but they didn’t elaborate on the age or any other details.
A full investigation is underway by The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean Township Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office.
“At this point in time, this is considered a suspicious death. More information will be released when it becomes available,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated.
