1 dead after being trapped in rollover car crash in Santa Teresa

SANTA TERESA, New Mexico -- A single-car rollover crash Saturday in Santa Teresa claimed the life a motorist.

Fire officials said it happened in the 100 block of Airport Road.

Sunland Park and Dona Ana County firefighters tried to rescue the crash victim, who was trapped inside the wreckage, using the jaws of life to remove them.

However, officials said the person was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

There was no word of any other injuries from the crash, which police were investigating to determine the cause.
