Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk Closed Due To Bomb Scare

  POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Officials and borough police are taking seriously a bomb threat made around 1:15 p.m. today that shut down the town’s boardwalk.

  Mayor Paul Kanitra reported that the situation was being investigated and the matter was being taken seriously in the event that the threat was credible.

  Police responded to a boardwalk business employee having received a bomb threat on the phone. With the assistance of several other law enforcement agencies, borough police e actuated the boardwalk and all businesses in operation there.

  Several K9 teams were dispatched to the scene to search the boardwalk and around 4 p.m. the area was deemed safe and it reopened at that time.

  As this situation remains under investigation, further information will be reported when available.
