Terlingua’s Mexican Restaurant

Terlingua’s Mexican Restaurant offers a unique experience with Smoke House to meats with Caribbean Southwest and Mexican inspirations. Terlingua’s has been open since 2015 under Chef and Owner Pliny Reynolds and Head Chef Wilson Rothschild. They are also home to a market where you can find pre-packaged smoked meats and other ready-to-go foods.

El Corazon is another great local find, the restaurant started as a food truck and in 2017 moved to its brick-and-mortar residence at 190 State Street in Portland, ME.

Owners and operators Joseph and Laura Urtuzuastegui serve patrons “Mexican food from the heart” with the mission to provide authentic Mexican cuisine at a reasonable price for everyone. Their Fried Green Tomato Tacos are a vegetarian's dream with their famous chipotle aioli.

They are open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 am to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 10 pm, and closed on Sunday and Monday. Call 207-536-1354 to make reservations. You won’t want to skip this experience at El Corazon’s.

Can’t sit down for a meal or need to pick up a few items? You can find this charming old-world market at Mellen Street Market in the Parkside neighborhood, where they have been since the 1970s. All the stores and restaurants are locally owned and operated for 50+ years by the Nappi family, who owned it until 2018, or the new owners Tim Ly, Shawn Freeman, and Chantel Do, who bought the market.

They offer a wide range of items, including 60+ craft beers from around Maine, food from local farms, coffee, bread, pastries, and prepared food ready to go. Attached to the market is Quinn’s Bardega restaurant that offers pizza, sandwiches, wings, and catering.
