June 2 (UPI) -- David Harbour discussed his dual Russian prisoner roles on Netflix's Stranger Things Season 4 and Marvel's Black Widow while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The actor, on Tuesday, noted how fans have started conspiracy theories about the two roles. Harbour's characters in both projects find themselves inside a Russian prison.

"There's all these conspiracy theories that Hopper went to Russia and then put on a super suit and now is the Red Guardian in this Black Widow movie," Harbour said, before detailing how he didn't want Hopper from Stranger Things and Red Guardian to look and feel the same.

Harbour said he grew out long hair and a beard for Stranger Things, but then used that look for Black Widow. The actor then came up with a shaved head look for Stranger Things and sent show creators, The Duffer Brothers, photos of the prison set from Black Widow.

"I thought like, I can't be the same guy with long hair and a beard in the same prison so I was taking pictures of the set, unbeknownst to anyone, and sending them to The Duffer Brothers. Making sure that they didn't use any of the same colors as the set and making sure the looks were different and the outfits were different.," Harbour said.

Harbour also introduced footage from Black Widow where he tries on the Red Guardian super suit.

"He's a good guy at heart but he's definitely got problems," Harbour said of his character.

Black Widow is coming to theaters and Disney+ with premiere access on July 9. Netflix has yet to announce a release date for Stranger Things Season 4.
