9 great places to enjoy on the Tampa Riverwalk

If you’re taking a trip down to the Tampa Riverwalk, there are a bunch of places you can enjoy during your visit to Tampa. The Riverwalk is a project that took decades of effort to build in Tampa, but the end result is beautiful and runs down the Hillsborough River into the bay.

Marriott Water Street - This hotel has been in Tampa for quite awhile and gone over renovations a few times, it is certainly one of my favorite places to stop when I am on the Tampa Riverwalk. It is well air-conditioned and the outside bar. 505 Water Street, Tampa, FL 33602. (813) 221-4900

J.W. Marriott - One of the newest hotels in Tampa and certainly a luxury experience filled with restaurants and a rooftop pool that overlooks Water Street. The ambiance is nice and they have a cafe downstairs. It’s a good spot to cool off on a hot day and the swimming pool on the rooftop can be accessed via apps like Resort Pass.

Turntable - This is a new little cafe outdoors on Water Street. The chef is also over at Marriott Water Street. They have burgers, sandwiches, drinks, and more. It’s a nice spot to visit before an event or Tampa Bay Lightning game.

Bright Ice - This is a new ice cream shop on the side of Marriott Water Street next to Starbucks. They have a variety of regular flavors, boozy ice cream, and also espresso ice cream. 505 Water St Suite A-01, Tampa, FL 33602. (813) 442-8419

Sparkman Wharf - This is an outdoor food space that was once known as Channelside. You’ll find a variety of food vendors that are affiliated with restaurants around town. Personally, it isn’t my favorite place to eat, but if you want to enjoy some food outside it could be an option. My favorite spot is Edison’s Swigamajig. 615 Channelside Dr., Tampa, FL 33602. JOTORO - If Asian fusion Mexican is your beat, JOTORO is there to offer lots of options including tacos with a Korean, Vietnamese, and Japanese influences. Everything is made very fresh and the cocktails are excellent. Don’t miss the margarita and tequila flights. 615 Channelside Dr Suite 114, Tampa, FL 33602.

Four Green Fields - This is a nice Irish bar right off the Riverwalk near Curtis Hixon Park.They have pub fare and also live music and of course a great craft beer menu selection as well. It’s a great spot to go with a few friends to hang out or just when you need to take a break from the Florida heat. 702 N Ashley Dr, Tampa, FL 33602.

Armature Works - One of the most popular spots on the Riverwalk, Armature Works is filled with over a dozen food spots to check out. It’s a great spot to enjoy the views and some bites. Be prepared to splurge though. 910 N Ola Ave, Tampa, FL 33602. (813) 250-3725

Xochitl - On the edge of the Riverwalk by Armature Works, pop over to Xochitl for delicious Mexican cuisine and margaritas. Don’t miss the elote and the Passion Fruit margaritas. 307 W Palm Ave, Tampa, FL 33602.
