Miles Teller replacing Armie Hammer in 'Godfather' drama 'The Offer'

May 29 (UPI) -- Whiplash star Miles Teller has signed on to play The Godfather producer Al Ruddy in a 10-part drama about the making of the classic mob movie for Paramount+.

Teller will replace Armie Hammer in the role in The Offer.

Hammer left the project in January amid allegations of sexual misconduct. He has denied any wrongdoing.

Nikki Toscano and Michael Tolkin are writing and executive producing The Offer, while Toscano will serve as showrunner.

Dexter Fletcher will direct multiple episodes of the series.

Teller has also appeared in the Divergent film franchise and War Dogs. He will soon be seen in the upcoming movies, Top Gun: Maverick and Escape From Spiderhead.

The Godfather was a 1972 film directed by Francis Coppola and based on Mario Puzo's novel. It starred Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, John Cazale, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire.
