Mesa Rosa Brings Good Mexican Food to Austin with a Kid-Friendly Patio & Beer Garden

Austin, TX--A restaurant with a sense of humor. The back of the server's shirts says, "We Don't Mesa Round. A unique local restaurant, just of 620 in Austin. My family stopped by to check out the environment. We visited: 15515 Ranch Road 620 Austin, TX 78717.

A delightful experience. If you're looking to relax outdoors and enjoy good Mexican food, my family highly recommends the food, the atmosphere, and the location.

On this occasion, we decided to relax a bit and nibble slower. You're invited to relax, just not to belabor the server's ability to earn a wage. The humor of this restaurant is part of its charm. If you're not partaking of food or beverage, they ask you to move along.

The youngest in our family ordered the chicken tenders off of the kid's menu. She's not a big fan of french fries, so the server was happy to accommodate a substitution of rice and beans at no extra charge.

One family member wants to keep to the appetizer menu for her choice of meal and orders the chargrilled steak quesadillas, served with fresh guacamole and a dollop of sour cream.

My husband is ready to eat. He orders the Santa Fe chicken enchiladas: shredded chicken layered between two blue corn tortillas, topped with tomatillo sauce, jack cheese and onions served with rice and refried beans.

I ordered the chicken fajita tacos: two soft tacos filled with char-grilled chicken or beef and sauteed onions, served with rice, refried beans, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese. Delicious!

At this Austin location, there's plenty of space to move around and stay socially distant. The kids can run back and forth from the playscape to the table and mom and dad can sit, nibble, and sip beverages if that's your desire. The environment is friendly, upbeat, and relaxed. The food is delicious.

It's hard to miss the sense of humor between the servers' shirts with the "We Don't Mesa Round" slogan and the signs sprinkled around the patio about the servers needing to make a wage. In many restaurants servers work for tips. If you're not actively eating, they politely ask you to consider those who are there working for their wages and to give up your table.

But, they don't rush you off either. On this occasion, we ordered some queso to go with our chips and ate at a leisurely pace. And by the time the youngest had visited the playscape before the meal arrived, and again, after the meal, it seemed like a good time to conclude our visit.

If you'd like to linger, perhaps order a round of drinks so that you're not be belaboring the table being turned over to the next patron. Surely you can understand and appreciate the hard-working staff who needs to make wages.

In Austin, at this Mesa Rosa local restaurant, they don't Mesa Round. They have a great atmosphere, a fun, relaxed environment, and delicious Mexican food. Stop in for good food and let them clean up the mesa for you. Likely there won't be much to clean up because you'll do most of the cleaning up by putting good food in your belly.
