The University of Houston-Clear Lake offers summer camp programs for students entering grades one through eight, starting on May 31.

The university intends to get children outside to explore and learn about the environment and pursue their own learning interests in the arts, engineering, technology, science, and literature through its programs.

The Environmental Institute of Houston (EIH) invites children interested in learning about their natural environment to join. The EIH will offer several possibilities for outdoor exploration, animal observation, and enjoyment.

Discover Nature Camp is ideal for first and second graders interested in nature and introducing nature to children. Nature hikes, bird-watching, fishing, dip-netting, gardening, geocaching, flower pressing, games, crafts, and tales are among the camp's exciting activities.

UHCL also offers Citizen Science Camp for third to fifth graders, including nature hikes, bird-watching, fishing, dip-netting, gardening, geocaching, flower pressing, games, crafts, tales, and many more. On the other hand, sixth through eighth graders can spend the night at the Hunger Games camp, which includes Hunger Games movies, volleyball, a home-cooked meal and breakfast, and other daily activities such as geocaching and archery.

Aside from the fun learning activities mentioned above, children can also participate in engaging summer programs to ensure that the learning does not stop. Their education programs include Art School for Children and Young Adults, hands-on STEM challenges at Camp Invention®, engineering design with robotics, writing their own graphic novel in Literacy Academy, crime scene investigation in Science Camp, and introduction to game design in Technology Camp.

The UHCL offers virtual sessions beginning at $40 and in-person attendance at $110, depending on the program.
