What do you get from Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao? An Oscar-worthy "Eternals" trailer.

Marvel released its first trailer for "Eternals" Monday. The movie stars Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani and Salma Hayek as immortal heroes. It is set to release in theaters Nov. 5, 2021, Marvel also shared in a tweet.

The trailer features striking imagery (as all Marvel movies do) and opens with the arrival of the celestial beings' spaceship. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Sersi (Chan) remarks to Ikaris (Madden) as they look out of their ship onto the shore of the town in which they just landed.

We also hear Hayek's voice as Ajak while scenes from the movie play out. Ajak notes that immortals have been around for a while, helping guide mankind from afar.

"We have watched and guided. We have helped them progress and seen them accomplish wonders. Throughout the years we have never interfered, until now," Hayek's Ajak says.

The trailer ends with a lighthearted scene where the Eternals are having a meal together and discuss who should be the leader of the Avengers now that Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are gone.

"I could lead them," Ikaris says as the table erupts in laughter.

Angelina Jolie stars as Athena in Marvel's "Eternals," directed by Chloe Zhao.

Fans first got a peak at Zhao's "Eternals" in Marvel's megatrailer earlier this month celebrating the cinematic universe's movies and revealing the official title and release date for the highly-anticipated "Black Panther" sequel as well as the title for Brie Larson's "Captain Marvel" sequel, "The Marvels."

"Eternals" is notable for its firsts: the first Marvel movie to feature a South Asian superhero (Nanjiani), a deaf superhero (Lauren Ridloff) and an openly gay superhero (Brian Tyree Henry). Zhao told USA TODAY in March she didn't set out to break barriers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: "Casting only works when it makes sense for the story. For 'Eternals,' as a story it makes sense that we have a very, very diverse cast ... and it's really about the (characters) as individuals."
