Blues head coach Craig Berube rips referees for 'one-sided' officiating

St. Louis Blues head coach Craig Berube has not been happy with the officiating during his team's first-round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche, and he made it known after a 5-1 loss on Friday night.

Berube was particularly frustrated about a perceived missed call involving defenseman Colton Parayko.

"Parayko gets tripped in the corner. (The Avalanche) go down (and) score a goal. ... He gets slew-footed, and they don't call it, and it cost us a goal," Berube said. "It's terrible. It's so one-sided, it's not even funny."

Friday's loss put the Blues down 3-0 in the series and they must win Game 4 on Sunday to avoid elimination.

The Blues have benefitted from Berube calling out the officiating in the past. During the 2019 Stanley Cup Final, the bench boss ripped the officials following a 7-2 Game 3 loss to the Boston Bruins. St. Louis then went on to win three of its next four games to win the title.
