I think it is safe to say that we are all a little burnt out from the last year. The pandemic has done quite the number on all of us. Between lock downs, mask mandates, school closures, and remote working, I think one thing we can collectively agree on is that we all deserve a little vacation. While a big vacation is probably not in the cards for most of us, you can opt for a more budget-friendly alternative. Check out a list of my favorite hotels and resorts here in the Tucson-greater area that you can pop in for a night or two to get a quick reset.

Hotel McCoy - $99/Night*

Do you long for the days of retro roadside motels? The Hotel McCoy is a modern take on the mid-century motel. The rooms are updated and clean, they have a beautiful pool, you get a free drink at the bar just for being a guest, and have complimentary breakfast. You also get free room-front parking and free property-wide wifi. The property has over 50 murals from local artists, and there is a yard area to play foosball and cornhole in the evenings.

Graduate Hotel - $137/Night*

Spend the weekend in Southwest Style at the Graduate Hotel. This property is located next to the University of Arizona campus and has great shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The Graduate boasts a glamorous roof-top pool and a terrace with indoor and outdoor seating with fire pits for late-night relaxing. Give yourself a weekend away even if you're right in the middle of all the action.

El Conquistador Tucson - $209/Night*

At a little higher of a price point is one of my favorite resorts in Tucson. The Hilton El Conquistador resort is a little slice of paradise in the desert foothills. They have a gorgeous new spa SpaWell, five outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and beautiful golf greens. For about $20 you can also get a delicious breakfast delivered to your room for breakfast in bed. This is the perfect spot to rest and recharge.

La Posada Lodge & Casitas - $139/Night*

Take in the beautiful scenery of the southwest while spending a night in the boutique La Posada Lodge & Casitas. Your stay includes breakfast, wifi, access to the heated pool and jacuzzi, and with a $25 fee is even pet friendly! The award-winning Southwest-style restaurant, Gringo's, is a great spot to grab food while you enjoy your weekend away from it all. Their website states there are bottomless mimosas as well, and I think I need to go to this resort to investigate! Sounds like a fabulous spot to reset.

The Tuxon Hotel - $135/Night*

Head towards downtown for a night at The Tuxon, a modern take on Southwest style. This hotel has luxury amenities without paying the luxe price. The rooms are comfortably appointed. Poolside is where the action is centered at The Tuxon. They have cabanas and The Pool Bar, so grab a mojito and take in some sun by the pool. Guests can rent a bike to take out for the day, or if the heat is too much, hit the treadmill in the fitness center. Beyond these five hotels, Tucson is full of amazing resorts and accommodations.

If you're just looking for a little escape from the norm without the pomp and circumstance of these resorts, there's nothing wrong with looking up the local Hampton Inn and just spending a night in. Watch some shows that you've been dying to see, take a bath without a little one knocking on the door every 3 minutes, or order room service instead of having to cook for the night. The fun of staying a night away from it all can be what a tired soul needs.
