A two-vehicle crash injured a 25-year-old motorcyclist on Highway 99 and Westside Boulevard (Winton, CA)
A 25-year-old man sustained injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99 and Westside Boulevard on Tuesday night.
The incident took place shortly after 8:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 99, just north of Westside Boulevard in Winton. As per reports, the 25-year-old Livingston man was riding a 2018 Kawasaki at estimated speeds of 70 to 80 mph.
CHP Officer Eric Zuniga released a statement that “Traffic ahead was slowed down and he didn’t realize it in time,” “He tried to dump the bike but he collided with a 2018 Lexus Coupe.” On arrival, medics airlifted the motorcyclist to Memorial Hospital in Modesto with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The Lexus driver did not sustain any injuries. Authorities believe that drugs or alcohol have not contributed to the crash. Officials shut down two lanes on Highway 99 for around 38 minutes.
An investigation is underway.
