In yet another sign that life is returning to normal, residents of Chippewa Falls are looking forward gathering for Springfest. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 21st and Saturday, May 22nd and will take place at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds.

The event offers many family friendly activities and is a nice way to launch the beginning of summer. Admission and parking are free on Friday, and there is a five dollar admission fee on Saturday.

Live music on Friday includes Sue Orfield, and Boogie and the Yo Yo’s with Sage Leary. Live music on Saturday features the talents of The Cragers, and Chris Kroeze and his band with Evan Pingel.

There is additional fee to enter the Chris Kroeze concert. The price is $20 when purchaed in advance, and $25 on the day of the show. A $75 VIP ticket is also available which includes beverages, snacks, and exclusive VIP tent access among other amenities.

Chris Kroeze made national headlines for his 2nd place finish on the 15th season of The Voice back in 2018. He was tutored throughout his run by Blake Shelton. His single, Human, reached 39 on the US Country chart in 2018.

Other bands featured throughout the day on Saturday include Visible Sound, Adams/LeBrun Duo, Chi-Hi Wire Choir and Randy Adams

The two day Springfest event will also feature food vendors, exhibitors, and entertainment the whole family can enjoy.

The Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds is a wide open area with plenty of room for social distancing.

Springfest was established in 2011 by the Chippewa Falls Rotary foundation. Funds raised by the event will go to community grants, youth programs, student scholarships, charities and public projects.

Although there is some rain expected on Friday, the weather looks extremely favorable on Saturday with a low chance of rain, minimal wind, and a high of 86 degrees.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines released on May 16th provide the assurance that social gatherings for vaccinated people pose minimal risk.

Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance—CDC.gov, COVID-19, When You’ve Been Fully Vaccinated

Springfest provides a terrific opportunity for families to enjoy some much needed together time. It’s a chance to get outside, mingle with the community, enjoy some wonderful food options, and listen to excellent music.

As we continue to put the pandemic behind us, Springfest will serve as a nice pivot point and reminder both of what we’ve gone through and what lies ahead. The Chippewa Falls community is looking forward to returning to regular festive activities with friends and neighbors that haven’t been able to socialize for quite some time.

Tickets are available directly at the entrance gate or at nwsfa.com. For more information, check out the Springfest web page. With any luck, Springfest will be the start of another wonderful and memorable Wisconsin summer.
