Texas is the South-Central State of the United States. It is the second-largest U.S. state by region after Alaska, which is the largest by territory. Texas is also the second-largest in terms of population after California, the most populous state of the United States. Texas shares boundaries with states like Louisiana to the east, Arkansas to the upper east, Oklahoma to the north, New Mexico to the west. Texas also shares a border with some of the Mexican provinces of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas to the south and southwest. Not many people know that Texas has a coastline with the Gulf of Mexico to its southeast.

More and more people are moving out of California, and most of them are relocating to Texas. This trend of migration has been on the rise, and it's still growing. It's like the people are fed up with California. The reason may be the crazy wildfires or these taxes that are sky-high. Here I am covering five things that are better in Texas than in California.

Cost of living in Taxes

Texas is much cheaper to live in than California. A study that MIT conducted in 2019 shows that day-to-day necessities like food, housing, childcare, and transportation are reasonably low compared to California. An average person in Texas spends $579 less than that in California. Likewise, it costs $7000 less to raise a child in Texas.

The property prices in California are sky high, and they are rising by the day. Texas, in that matter, is good. Despite the fast economic growth of many cities of Texas, the property rates are surprisingly low. A house in California that would cost a million would be around $400,000 in Texas.

No Income Taxes in Taxes

One of the primary reasons people are moving to Texas is that it has no income taxes. This makes taxes more desirable to live in than California, where income tax sums up just over 13%. This is the reason behind most of these highly paid celebrities that are moving to Texas. Saving all this money makes Texas a better place than California.

Job/Business Opportunities in Taxes

Most of the jobs and businesses in California are based around the entertainment industry. On the other hand, Texas has jobs for most types of professionals. As more enterprises and IT companies are opening their plants/offices in Texas, the opportunities are more significant than ever. Other than this the mining and oil have always been their primary source of jobs.

Texas also provides opportunities for small business owners and startups because it has a lower corporate tax rate. Texas has a large number of highly skilled individuals in nearly every industry.

Quality of Education in Taxes

One of the reasons that make Texas a better place than California is its education system. A national standardized test showed that Texan students outperformed Californian students. The teacher-student ratio is 22 to 1 in California, while in Texas, it is 15.1 to 1, which works in favor of students. This makes it easier for teachers to focus on their students so they can learn more efficiently.

Texas has further improved on its education policies recently. So, if you are a parent and want to move to Texas, you will find better schools for your child.

Better Outdoor Lifestyle in Taxes

California is known for its beaches and beauty, but Texas has one of the most diverse landscapes in the country. You can participate in fun activities like hiking, kayaking, biking, and other stuff like these. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

I'm not saying that Texas is a better place than California. I listed five points. Everyone needs to make this decision by itself. So let me know in the comments if you would prefer Texas or California?
