It's hard to find good food at a reasonable price. Some girlfriends and I wanted to get together recently, but we weren't comfortable being indoors. We looked around for a central location and decided on Second Bar + Kitchen because of the outdoor patio and the Happy Hour from 3-6 pm.

Second Bar + Kitchen is a local favorite with two Austin locations. One is at 3121 Palm Way #101, Austin, TX, and the second is nestled in the Austin Bergstrom International Airport. We visited the North Austin location at the Domain.

On our second visit, we started with the crispy brussels sprouts. They were a delightful taste of smoked bacon, mint, feta, and golden raisin. We enjoyed them so much that we left not a single sprout.

While our pizzas were in the oven, we happily sipped the house sangria which consisted of a blend of seasonal fruits, spices, and red wine. Being the chatty group trio, we were happy to hang out and sip while we enjoyed each other's company and shared writing tips.

By the time pizza arrived, we were on our second round of sangria and wine spritz, which has a house white base, french cassis, lemon, and soda.

On this occasion we ordered a couple of pizzas: the pizza blanco and the black + bleu. Both were amazing. We'd favored the pizza blanco on a previous visit and wanted to repeat the experience of ricotta, goat cheese, wild arugula, and grana padano.

The black + bleu was a delightful surprise. It had black truffle, bleu cheese, pork belly, medjool dates, and red onion. We were definitely fans. There was a savory flavor, and the dates added a perfect blend of sweetness.

Our trio gives the Austin Second Bar + Kitchen five Stars. If you're in Austin and looking for great food at a reasonable price, we recommend you visit. During happy hour the pizzas are $10 each. You can enjoy a selection of appetizers for $5, and a glass of wine for $5-7 per glass.

Don't miss Second Bar + Kitchen in Austin. We highly recommend it.
