Teen Charged For Theft of Jeep & High-Speed Chase
When you are driving a car it is important to focus on the speed limit and the people around you because you never know what may happen.
Getting in a car accident is one of the top ways a lot of people get hurt or lose their life, anything can happen within a second.
Another thing if you have been speeding or have a tail light out and you get pulled over the best choice you have is to cooperate with the police and not continue in a high-speed chance, that is setting yourself for more charges than you need.
In an article from Fox 2 News called "Bond increased for teen charged in theft of Jeep, high-speed chase, killing woman in Sterling Heights" by Fox 2 Staff stated
"A Macomb County judge has increased the bond for a 17-year-old charged with killing a woman while driving a jeep he's accused of stealing from a car dealership in April.
Angelo Rickey Smith, of Detroit, was arraigned last on charges of homicide and fleeing a police officer. He was ordered held on a $100,000 cash and surety bond. The Macomb County Prosecutor’s office filed an emergency bond motion to increase that bond to $1 million."
After the first bond was set the court system had time to think and raised the bond to half a million dollars. This may be one of the hardest lessons this young man will have to learn because he chose to steal a car and killed someone in the midst of it.
This is not the first car that Angelo Rickey Smith has stolen, the police were able to retrieve one of the cars.
In addition, people witnessed the car accident and saw the vehicles colliding at that point there was nothing that anyone could do for the victim. There were cars scattered everywhere!
There has not been an update on whether Angelo Rickey Smith has made bail but, the case is still ongoing.
