The conventional Native religion proceeds at Taos Pueblo in present day times, yet it is shrouded in mystery. The Taos Indians disallow any exposure of their strict practices, and next to no data has been distributed about them. Researchers say that a great deal of the composed data about the religion is untrustworthy.

The vast majority of the pueblo individuals view themselves as Catholic, and many go to chapel gatherings consistently. There has been a lot mixing of the Catholic and Native religions over the long haul, however they are as yet thought to be discrete. The congregation and kiva (round adobe structures somewhat subterranean utilized in Pueblo religion) hold similarly noticeable spots in the town, and the Taos Pueblo see no contention in practicing the two religions.

While Taos Indian dress has changed significantly since Spanish frontier days, some conventional components remain. Men actually wear the mantas (blanketlike shrouds) that were first seen by the Spaniards. In present day times machine-made covers are usually worn. As they actually do, Taos men wore their hair in two plaits, one behind every ear. Numerous Taos ladies actually wear their hair in the conventional style, long and free with eyebrow length bangs. More established ladies turn their hair into chignons (buns).
